FAQ
What funding can I use for supported holidays or respite?
Our programs are usually funded under Core Supports: STA / Respite or Community Participation. This covers your accommodation, care, food, and activities.
What’s included in the cost?
We keep it simple. Your quote includes accommodation, all meals, transport during the holiday, 24/7 support worker assistance, and planned activities.
What level of support is provided?
Support can be tailored to your needs, from 1:1 support to small group ratios (1:2 or 1:3). This will be discussed at your meet and greet to ensure we match the right support for you.
How are safety and health needs managed?
Your safety is our priority. All BeaconRise staff are qualified, screened, and trained in trauma-informed care and First Aid. We conduct safety checks on all accommodation and activities before we go.
Are the trips accessible?
Yes. Our programs are designed to be inclusive and accessible, with transport, accommodation, and activities chosen to meet a wide range of mobility and support needs.
Do I need to bring spending money?
Yes, we recommend bringing a small amount of personal spending money for souvenirs or extra snacks not included in the package.
Can families/carers be involved?
Families usually benefit from respite during participant trips. However, if you’d like your family member or carer involved, this can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
Do you offer emergency or short-notice support?
Yes. We know life doesn’t always go to plan. If your usual support falls through or a family emergency arises, BeaconRise offers responsive options to ensure you are safe and supported:
Emergency Accommodation: Rapid response for unexpected situations.
In-Home Respite: Qualified support delivered in the comfort of your own home.
Flexible Stays: We adapt to your schedule and needs.
How do I get started?
We begin with a meet and greet to learn about your goals, support needs, and preferences. From there, we’ll tailor your supported holiday or weekend getaway plan.
Getting Started Is Easy
Step 1: Reach out or refer
You can contact us directly or have someone submit a referral on your behalf, whichever suits you best.
Step 2: We meet and listen
We take the time to get to know you: your goals, needs, challenges, and what a good life looks like to you.
This helps us plan the right kind of support together.
Step 3: We tailor your support journey
Whether it’s one-on-one mentoring, daily support, transport, or a weekend adventure.
We connect you with the right team and services to help you grow with confidence.
